Leave the town square and
turn left on the main road. Cross the river and turn right. Pass the Glen-yr-Afon
Hotel and the "RPS Cambrian" sign on the left and take the footpath
on the left next to Mayfield Lodge. Go through the metal gate and then
straight on, keeping to the field edge. Take the track straight ahead
at the corner of the field and then swing right, passing the "Circular
Walk 2" marker post. |
| Go straight on, crossing 2 stiles and ignoring the path to the left. Continue straight on uphill, with a gully on the left. Where the gully turns left, go straight on uphill to cross a stile in the wire fence. Turn left up the field. Follow the wire fence to the top corner of the field. Turn right and after a few metres take the stile to the left of the second metal gate. Go straight on with the wood (Cuod-duon) and wire fence to the left. | ||
|
Cross the stile at the end of the field to enter the wood. After 7 metres join a track going downhill. After about 30 metres take the left fork to the left of a tree with a double trunk. Follow the broad track which soon swings left uphill to a stile to the left of 2 large trees close together. Cross the stile and turn left uphill, with the wire
fence on the left. Shortly afterwards cross a stile on the left and continue
in the same direction, with the wire fence now on the right. |

Cross a stile and go straight on to another stile to the left of a metal gate. Shortly afterwards turn right on the main road again and follow this back over the bridge to the town square. (See a photo of a commemorative plaque giving the history of the bridge.) |
